Jordano restaurant in Madrid, Arabic cuisine
Arabic cuisine is characterized by being very spicy. Spices are a large part of the dishes, as are lamb meat and nuts. Also, vegetables are important, hence the vast majority of our cold starters are made with these ingredients.
Hummus is one of the most popular dishes of our gastronomy. It is made with crushed chickpeas and Tahini – sesame and garlic sauce garnished with lemon and extra virgin olive oil. For its part, one of our star salads is Tabbouleh, with chopped parsley, tomato, lemon, fresh mint, onion and Bulgur.
Among the hot starters, the falafel, which consists of an Arabic chickpea croquette with fine herbs and onion, is very popular. As one of the main dishes that stands out, there is the Tajín de Kofta y Tahini, which consists of minced lamb meat with potatoes and tahini, cooked in a clay pot sealed with pita bread.
As for sweet, our desserts stand out for containing nuts and orange blossom syrup. One of the best known is Kanufa, a thin baked puff pastry filled with melted white cheese and orange blossom syrup.
